Do you have a substance-related diagnosis? Are you in need of comprehensive outpatient care for drug or alcohol recovery? If you answer yes to either of these questions, then Absolute Advocacy’s Intensive Outpatient Program may be for you. We are also happy to announce that our program is now online, making it more accessible and customizable than ever!
The shift to online substance abuse services took off during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Absolute Advocacy was one of the first providers to pioneer the use of digital platforms for online DUI assessments and classes. We had to find ways to make our services accessible and comfortable to our clients online, and the result is continuing excellence.
Even before the COVID-19 pandemic, we saw the need to modernize the delivery system of substance use services. The goals of higher accessibility and lower client costs existed before the pandemic, but lockdowns opened a window of opportunity for advocates within the industry to expand the format and delivery systems of their services. Now, online substance use programs are here to stay, and they allow us to continue to meet the needs of our community.
A Look At SAIOP
The Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program, or SAIOP, is a program for anyone with a substance use disorder diagnosis. The program exists to support people with a diagnosis and build their skills and toolbox until they meet the goals in their Person Centered Plan. The program focuses on six key areas:
- Individual, group, and family counseling
- Life skills
- Strategies for relapse prevention
- Crisis contingency planning
- Disease management
- Service coordination activities
Important: Admission to the program is contingent on a substance use diagnosis or referral.
What To Expect From Our Online Intensive Outpatient Program
Absolute Advocacy is a trusted and tenured support service for people who need help overcoming substance-related issues. Since 2011, we have helped hundreds of local people regain their lives and take control of their substance-related struggles.
The transition to online services met one of our greatest goals: To create more accessible, flexible, and cost-effective options for our clients.
Our online SAIOP is similar in format to taking an online class. The virtual platform offers a customizable experience that our clients can tailor to meet their needs. It’s time flexible, completable at your own pace, and an open door leading to the support you need when you need it.
Step 1: Admission
Admission to the program starts with a professional diagnosis by one of the following:
- Licensed clinical addiction specialist
- Certified substance abuse counselor
- Licensed psychologist
- Physician
- Physician’s assistant
- Nurse practitioner
Step 2: Assessment and History
Once we have your official diagnosis, our next step is to compile a thorough client history that includes:
- Your health and medical conditions
- Indications of emotional problems or psychiatric illness
- Legal issues (such as a DUI/DWI charge)
- Family relationships
- Employment-related issues
We carefully document and address all relevant issues and challenges through a comprehensive assessment. Your input matters, and we work with you to ensure that the problems and struggles that matter most to you are a focal point.
Assessments are individual, and this is crucial. Your unique needs will determine which program services or referrals will best support your goals. We are your advocates, and our duty is always to be the team in your corner.
Step 3: Jumping In
Once admission to the program and a comprehensive assessment and history are complete, it will be time to jump into the online program. We’ll guide you every step of the way, and you never have to tackle anything without guidance. Our online platform makes it easy to personalize your experience, and help is always a click away.
The SAIOP program lasts at least 90 hours. It’s typically broken up into short, productive bursts of about three hours per day, three days per week. You always have the option to do more, but it’s entirely up to you.
