#1: Build a Plan
First, you dream it. Then, you plan it. Everything that is completed starts with a plan, and every plan starts with a dream. It’s hard to move forward in life if you don’t first have a strategy. So build a plan that’s within reason and stick to it.

Think about your goal as though it’s the ceiling in your bedroom. Can you reach the ceiling by simply raising your arm? Probably not. You should not set a goal that is higher than your arms can reach. If you set your goals too high, you might be setting yourself up for disappointment, so be sure some of your goals stay within your reach as you reach for those higher ones.

Positivity will take you on a trip through life like you’ve never imagined. Not only that, but it will also help you to stay motivated. Find positive in every situation; enjoy positive music, listen to motivational speeches, watch happy movies, and choose your friends wisely. Stick with positive people who will keep your spirits up and not drag you down.

#4: Quit Comparison Shopping
Quit shopping for others whom you think are better than you. For example, you should never assume your cubicle mate performs the job more proficiently than you. More than likely, you’re comparing because you feel inadequate, but that’s far from the truth. Knowing that everyone has different abilities should help you understand that each person has their own strengths and weaknesses. So what might be your cubicle mate’s weakness may just be one of your biggest strengths.

#5: It’s OK to Make a Mistake
Everyone makes mistakes, and you’re no different. Making mistakes is part of the learning process, no matter how old a person is. Instead of beating yourself up over errors, figure out what you did wrong and learn from it. Move on. The last thing you want to do is to keep rehashing an honest mistake. Once you achieve this, you will be able to complete all of your tasks like a champ!
