Court Ordered Drug Education Classes? Get Your Classes Done in Just One Week!
The Absolute Advocacy team is proud to announce that we are an approved Drug Education School (DES) provider for the state of North Carolina. One of only two approved agencies to provide this service, our goal is to make your court-ordered drug education classes simple, yet effective so that you meet the requirements of the court and get the education and support you need as quickly as possible.
This is a state-approved program for first time offenders who are facing conviction for a drug violation. By law, the program is 15 hours of education that allows a person with a misdemeanor charge to take the Drug Education School classes to avoid a criminal drug conviction and maintain a clean record. There is a process to making sure you meet all of the requirements and we have outlined these steps below.
HERE’S HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS
A trained and qualified member of our team will administer an assessment, which is simply a questionnaire designed to determine if you meet the qualifications for the program based on your history with drugs.
Once your assessment is complete, we will follow up with the court to inform them of our recommendation. Since the judge or probation officer has already done an initial referral, the recommendation will likely be for you to attend Drug Education School.
Attend Drug Education School with Absolute Advocacy at one of our 2 convenient locations, in Charlotte or Concord, NC, to meet the education requirement of your program. If you meet all the requirements (pay class fees, attend all 15 hours, satisfy other court conditions), completion of this program allows for your drug charges to be dismissed at the end of the one-year period. This is what is called a deferred judgment, where the judge will give you a chance to take the DES classes before sentencing you. You will have 150 days from the date of your referral to complete the DES program.
